Campaign Story
On the 19th, 20th and 21st June five members of the Northgate Public Services (NPS) Hartlepool ICT team (plus a few friends) will be undertaking the 140 mile Coast to Coast (C2C) cycle ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.
The ride has been organised under the NPS 'Communities Matter' initiative which actively promotes NPS staff to make a difference in the communities where they live and work.
The current 'Communities Matter' theme is Homelessness, with this in mind the team will be raising funds for Community Campus 87 who work to support the homeless across Teesside.
Community Campus 87 provide a vast range of services including affordable housing, support and resettlement services, personal development and learning and training opportunities, and believe firmly that people and communities fundamentally have within them the solutions to their own problems.
The C2C is just a small part of the much larger National Cycle Network of nearly 10,000 miles.
It is one of Britain's most popular long distance cycle routes and is based on minor roads, disused railway lines, off-road tracks and specially constructed cycle paths.
However this is not just an easy couple of days cycling as there are some seriously hard climbs along the route, with the highest point being over 2000 feet.
So please give generously to help the team support a worthy local cause.

After spending the 3 days of hills, rain and pain with these guys I'm donating again. The first thing they asked at every checkpoint was for an update on how much they has raised so far. Amazing effort from a few blokes with bikes
