Like many families at the moment we have a member of ours who is a carer and recently we have had growing concerns for her safety.

The problem has been the lack of or not having PPE that has been highlighted on the news due to a lack of resources and funding. We have heard of carers having to supplement aprons for black bin liners and surgical gloves for marigolds and a shortage of masks and protective eyewear all in an aim to protect themselves while fighting against the virus and looking after dementia patients who are confused and scared of viewing them like this putting them at higher risk.

We ourselves have personally funded and supplied protective eyewear for 30 carers to try and fill the missing demand and in doing so have realised the lack of resources with suppliers and escalating costs. Upon doing so we had a thought to help all carers and their families if we could ask for a small donation between £2-£5 so we can source PPE on the care homes behalf and request any excess PPE that anybody else may have spare at home we could then collect and deliver all donated items and purchase new by contacting suppliers and negotiating prices and researching stock they may have.

How will it work?

Its simple in the comments box just tag a carer who you know and put in “I’ve Donated Cared and Shared for“ then tag a carers name to show your love and appreciation and support for them and of course donate then share this page and when you re-post ask your friends to Donate Care and Share as well

Also if you had any PPE you wanted to donate or knew a company who may donate we would do our best to collect from you or them if possible or if you know of any care homes that have shortages of anything then please contact us and we would personally deliver or have delivered any donated or purchased item to help keep your carers safe.

We have already helped two care homes Romney House in Trowbridge Wiltshire and Frome Nursing Homeand a few in Clevedon Somerset by putting them in contact with a company who makes visors for which is all voluntary work and the cost to produce these is just 50p but did you know just one face mask can cost as much as £4 each at the moment?

Please help us to protect your Carer by donating don’t forget to say I’ve donated cared and shared for then your carers name tagged in the comments box

Thank you

(All purchases would be allocated to relevant invoices against any funds received and 100% of any donations would be made to the cause-less any fee from Go get me funding paypal and Stripe card company)
