This Festive Season give the Gift that Keeps on Growing

Hi I am Dash Meizler director of the Podrska Foundation an organisation that advocates for human and non-human lives in Uganda. Since 2018 we have been delivering ethical support to the most at risk families in the Kosovo and Kiwunya slums of Kampala in Uganda. In previous years during the festive season we have provided families with plant based food parcels. This year we would like to gift them the means so they can grow their own food which, for the same price as a food parcel, will provide a sustained food supply throughout the year thereby increasing their food security and promoting independence.

Families in the slums do not have access to land to grow crops and so they will be provided with the materials to grow a selection of nutritional crops which are suitable for container growing. If enough funds are raised we hope to reach up to 50 families. £36 per family will supply 5 containers, soil, seeds and seedlings as well as simple instructions for them to follow.

5 plastic containers @ 15000ugx = 60,000 UGX

Amaranthus seeds (1 handful ) = 20,000 UGX

Solanum Aethiopicum seeds (1 handful) = 20,000 UGX

Collards seeds (1 handful) = 20,000 UGX

Spinach seedlings x 10 = 20,000 UGX

Tomato seedlings x 10 = 30,000 UGX

Soil = 5000 UGX
